Weeds like Wildflowers: Poem

Weeds Like Wildflowers

Let’s go in the great outdoors

Where the wildflowers grow.

Some say “weeds.”

I say, “unwanted wildflowers.”

Keep the weeds –

We need to feed the bees.

The playing daughters and sons

Love the thousands of little suns.

Each wildflower grows

In unwanted places

At the gardens and field spaces.

Weeds are overgrowing

Desirable plants

At the fields and fences.

They are harmful

Free of hurtful

Desirable plants,

The home for bugs and ants.

Gardeners pull the roots easily

Gardens observe water, minerals,

And nutrients easily.

Weeds as wildflowers

Are unwanted by humans,

Only brave and confident men

Let them grow there,

Where they want and desire.
