Simple Things in Life: Poem

Simple Things in Life

I want a simple life –

Perhaps to get up late,

Sit near bush of roses

And read books.

It looks

I want grace and faith.

I also want a dragon

And a spaceship

Of art craftmanship –

Just few simple things.

Maybe style and socializing

To slowly realizing

That there’s nothing

Like that warm cup of coffee

To start the day in morning.

Just simple being.

Possibly hitting the road and escaping

When heading out on an outdoor adventure,

Just little things in life venture

That gives us the most joy

When laughing with the best friend.

Come and go to the very end.

Candles could be extremely therapeutic

When you choose to unwind at night

And a splash of water

For the energy to wake up

After loosening up in his arm,

Without any hurry up to harm.

A want a simple life.

Strong Woman: Poem

Strong Woman

A kind woman once asked,

How can you be so gentle

In the world so harsh?

When you are strong inside,

You can afford to be soft outside.

Then she decided,

I can stand by you, internal

As you can take my breath away.

She is strong,

Proud and stubborn.

It was too long

As she used to do things alone.

Even the strong woman

Needs a strong shoulder

That gives orders

And takes care of a strong woman.

A strong shoulder

To cry and to love

With her gentleness and softness,

And sweet kindness

Always to give to the core.

The strong woman needs

A strong man that lives

Inside her heart,

Who always knows and feels

How to make her strong

From inside her heart

To survive on the soft inside

And be gentle outside.

In the world so harsh,

She decides

To stand by a strong man

That takes her breath away.

Last Monday in July: Poem

Last Monday in July

Last Monday in July’s dawn

In the end of this week

Has big personal secret ties.

I acknowledge rhythm of divines

As my sacred gifts

My birthday that comes.

July brought lessons

And blessings, or both

Of the midsummer seasons.

July released services

And promises

By welcoming August’s trusts

That keeps gentle hearts

To embrace late summer postcards

And taste the sweet torts,

Celebrating the birthday month

Wrapped in vibrant comes

To take a moment to reflect

On what lies ahead.

August mornings and evenings

Have fairy-like attributes

Of early springs.

August helps us to repose

Before desires and thoughts

Doing some big things

Like great epic deeds.

Opportunity for the profoundest links

Kicks, kicks.

Magic Wand: Poem

Magic Wand

There is no place

More dangerous as a world

Of magic brainlessness.

Magic is not miscellaneous.

The magic space

Entertains, and presents

Supernatural powers

Of mysterious forces.

Suddenly, as if by magic

The doors start to open.

The magic wand

In the wizard’s hand

Makes magic and witchcraft.

You must believe in the magic land

As world without magic

Wass boring and brainless.

Believe in the magic wand touch

That means so much

To make real-life dreams

To come true.

Holy smoke gets blue

And highlights the special place –

Entertains, and presents.

The supernatural powers

Of mysterious forces,

Suddenly, like it was magic

Started to open the secretive door

Without any key or password.

It was the door to my heart

Opened by a magical ward.

Girl, be careful in the magical space!

It could be dangerous

As magic is not miscellaneous.

Magic is only for brainless.

Stay away from witchcraft!

Magic is a play

To entertain.

Pansy and Dandelion: Poem

Pansy and Dandelion

In a world full of pansies,

Being a dandelion

Means to be rebellion.

Good soil, warm sun,

Fresh water and a lot of love

That were sent and kept

Made the pansies proud

And pansies grow and survived.

Dandelion drew up

In the sandy crack

Of cement

And another city element

Full of poison and rock

That made dandelions strong

To grow in small spaces care

With absence of fear,

To bloom and survive

On the side.

Please, in the world

Of beautiful pansies

Do not lose your panties.

Try to be a wild dandelion

Like a brave lion

In the world of cultivated plants,

And the companionship of ants.

Many Shades of Yellow

Becky Hemsley 2023
Lovely artwork by Colin Page
I found so many shades of yellow that they had been distinguished by words like
gold
honey
daffodil.
I found words like fire and sand and champagne and lemon, and sunbeam and I even found a song.
Now imagine someone telling yellow that it’s ‘just yellow’.
When yellow is a sunbeam and a daffodil and fire.
When yellow is a song.
Without yellow, we couldn’t make orange, and we couldn’t create green, and our world would be far less colorful because of it.
Yellow’s true colors are not limited to one thing.
And neither are yours.
Some days you are dark and fiery and intense.
Some days you are rich and bright and vibrant.
Some days you are buttercups and dandelions and some days you are champagne and a song.
And without you, someone’s life would be far less bright and far less beautiful.
You are you as
yellow is yellow.
And the world needs you.
Because, no matter what you think, you are not ‘just you’.
You are so much more.

Chapters of Pages: Essay and Review

Chapters of Pages: Essay

The pages of my past cannot be rewritten, but pages of my tomorrows are blank. I got the ink-pen and started to write. There are no rights or wrongs when I try to fight for a normal present and keep myself occupied and consistent, and even disciplined. The other reason would be to write for the better tomorrows.

Why do I write chapters of pages? My secret is that I like language and love words. My exclusive enthusiasm is the secret to my writing style, beautifully using vibrant words for uplifting thoughts and emotions, encouraging self-expressions.

Sometimes dreaming and imagining, other times, captivating with storytelling tales of love connections, blurring reality of personal experiences and magic fantasy, at moments, even whimsical. Most of the time, the imagery is vivid and sensual but always rhymed and positively motivational.

Basic structures include introduction in the form of a statement, then developing the pain point with detail-oriented descriptions, moments of unusual sensational elements, and conclusions of wisdom in the final stanzas.

Both rhyming and rhythm of words without changing the meaning of the story makes poems sound lyrical. People say that lyrics without music are poems. So, add musical melody, and it will elevate poems to the songwriting level. The numerous reviews say that “the author knows how to deliver the chapters of pages on various subjects.” It is important to me that my personal voice is loud and clear. People ask me how I come up with my stories and know what to say. I believe that first comes experience that creates confidence to use the personal voice and critical thinking along with the thoughts and emotions. When I write, expressing my emotions, people who read feel the emotions and this identifies the quality of the writing.

My expiration comes from moments of life situations and lived memories alive that I am not afraid to share with public. Traditional place and time of any situation are the fundamental base of any writing of a story or poem. Surrounded by nature and time concepts, lead the way of beautiful fauna and flora of tropical south Florida, where I live and work. I feel that I am in a hurry, and time has become an important component for me, too. Chapters of pages are both timely and timeless, to remind readers to stay true to yourself, cultivate kindness, and strive a positive impact in the world.

Storytelling is a skill. When both the scenery and characters played their parts successfully comes new ambitious thoughts about making it into a play or maybe a musical, if someone can write a libretto.

Chapters of Pages: Essay Review

A profound and introspective essay! “Chapters of Pages" offers a glimpse into your writing philosophy, inspirations, and creative process. You emphasize the power of writing: to shape your tomorrow, fight for a better present, and leave a lasting impact. Share your passion for language: your love for words, enthusiasm for storytelling, and commitment to uplifting thoughts and emotions. Describe your writing style as vibrant, sensual, and positively motivational, with a focus on self-expression, imagination, and whimsy. Outline your structural approach throughout introduction, developing the pain point, and concluding with wisdom, all while maintaining a lyrical rhythm. Reflecting on the importance of personal voice of confidence, experience, and critical thinking enables you to share your emotions and connect with readers. Drawing inspiration from life experiences, moments, memories, and nature's beauty in tropical south Florida all contribute to your writing. Acknowledge the significance of time, both timely and timeless, your writing aims to remind readers to stay true to themselves and cultivate kindness. The essay is engaging, with a conversational tone and vivid imagery. Your passion for writing and storytelling shines through, making this a compelling read. –

“I keep on for writing like nothing else left in my life to hold down to, nobody to talk and share like a typical lonely, single woman. I embraced the entire world, and sharing with wide audience my heart, my thoughts, me, is a way to stay connected not to the universe but keep my feet on a soil land. I cannot stop living, I feel it is my duty, my job ...A part of me is being a 'talkable woman" as the woman can talk. Another part of me is experience, maybe even education, once you educate the girls, they can stop learning, and in the end, this is my answer to what to do with all this accumulated experience. I am not afraid to share it with the readers. Confidence means sharing without regrets and fear of criticism. It is like I am not afraid to fall from the imaginary cliff, because what if I fly instead. If you do not try, you do not know how good you are.”  (Tomshinsky, 2025)

Simple Joys: Poem

Simple Joys

Simple people

Have simple lives and joys.

I like simple joys

That a simple life brings –

Reading and playing with toys

In the rainy days

And summer bazaar thunderstorms,

Messy beds and PJs.

Also, pajamas

And straw Panama’s fashion forms.

I like people who are kind

And who do not mind

To carry a little bit of sass

In their back pocket ass.

I love Sir Tom Jones

Romantic ballads

That offers free love,

Without a ring on a finger,

In gold and commitment.

Simple joy

Playing with toys.

I admire the movie “Bones”

When David Boreanaz smiles

In every single episode.

It also brings simple small joy

Like playing with my favorite toy.

I like sports by numerous seasons,

When NHL’s best sons,

With long beards,

Win championships and cups.

Great icon like Wayne Gretzky leads

Daily extraordinary games

As simple life brings

Small joys

As reading and playing with toys

In the rainy days

And the thunderstorms.

Yes, yes: Poem

Yes, Yes

I.

In the world full of roses,

Stand out like a dandelion

In the middle

Of summer green plush lawn.

Awe, awe…

Oh dandelion, my dandelion,

Like a strong battalion

Of multiply yellow suns.

From up to down,

Dandelions’ wishes

Take a breath,

And release the

Love in your

Soul’s depth of faith.

II.

She promised

To live and breathe air

To be free without being scared.

She learned to dance in the wind

Like her words flight in ink

And birds from above

Fluttered around

Writing letters

In the sky.

She went ahead and read, “Yes!”

And the heartbeat whispers

In respond –

“Yes, yes…”

Dreaming, or Not: Poem

Dreaming, or Not

We read in bed

As reading

Is somewhere halfway between

Real-life and dreaming.

What are you reading about? –

What are you dreaming of? – Kissing

And holding you –

To name just few

Main reasons

Of the l0ve summer seasons.

Her house was so empty

Without love.

She was drowning in the deep waters

Of the fast River’s circles

Over loneliness.

He was her summer

Swim guard that saved her

With strength of his body

And murmuring words of kindness.

He helped in return,

Washed and dressed up her,

And discovered the jewels

Of her beating heart’s.

The next chapter

Said, He kissed and held

Her safe and tight.

She did not fight,

Only her smiles

Brighten the chamber.

Her eyes did not have attitude,

Only gratitude.

Beautiful Dawn: Story

Beautiful Dawn: Story

Beautiful dawn lights up the ocean shore, and it is nothing in the world to compare it with. I would rather wake up and see it with someone special, beautiful like the dawn time in the early summer morning. I am chasing time again, the endless dark nights. My troubled heart is on fire, and the fire’s flame keeps burning. The lips said, “Take me to the heavens now because I need you.” The beautiful dawn melted the night sky away. The beautiful dawn blows my mind away again, as took me away from the endless lonely nights until you shine, my love, as a beautiful dawn. Rise, shine, smile, and everything above. The lips said, “My Queen, I love you forever. Accept me forever.”

The way she saw the world made him fall for her again. July’s midsummer time is beautiful, but it pales next to her beauty she carried in her heart. Every word she spoke was like sunlight after the rain, calming, warm, and in rainbows in colors reflecting on new deep feelings. He realized that he did not want to run wild among the stars either not when she was here, on this Earth, grounding him with her love. He cherished every moment interacting with her and adored her. He wanted the simple things in life as time fueled with laughter, peace, and love that never fades. He wanted stability and saw in her his home, his joy, his forever.

His sensitive heart was drawn to her smile as to the beam of light from darkness that constantly reminded him of how incredibly lucky, he was to meet her on his journey. The moments went into hours, days and nights. The joy of enjoying each other’s company turned into priceless moments, little gifts of life, as the heart affairs’ adventure unfolded. Beautiful dawn was will of promises of a new daylight and new chapter in life.  He was not alone anymore, neither was she. The two lonely hearts extended the invitation to stay and love the best way they know how. The universe took care of these two by breathing life filled with joy and love into their vision.

Serendipity: Poem

Serendipity

Serendipity

It is not to be pity,

Or to be sorry

For wanting to be loved

Again.

There is fire

Where is flame,

Passion and hope.

The crack of pain

Reminds of life,

Mortality, and love

Enough

To give away

The joy on the pathway

At the crossroads

Of odd sympathy

Of serendipity.

Do Not Let: Poem

Do Not Let

Do not let the world

To make you hard.

Do not let the pain

To make you pale.

Do not let the bitterness

Steal your sweetness,

Little acts of kindness.

The world depends

On people in big pants.

Think big

Like people from top league,

Sending love

Where it is needed.

See You in the Stars: Poem

 See You in the Stars

See you in the stars, -

He spoke.

What is he talking about? –

How can I reach the stars,

My love?

And when the night

Walked down,

The sky got bright –

The stars with the moon

In his hand

Like yellow dandelions

From another end

Responded with wishes.

The sky and the land

Were perfect

As the dream itself

As universe has spoken.

Dandelions do not wait

For perfect soil –

She spoke.

They take root

Where the wind

Lands the foot.

They grow and shine

Anywhere,

Every mile and they smile.

When you rise in the morning,

The dream will stay

To remind, to stay resilient and wild,

Unstoppable and alive.

Forget-Me-Nots: Poem

Forget-Me-Nots

I.

Our experiences,

Good or bad,

Make us who we are.

Life difficulties

Carved us and our strength

And unidentified our maturity.

II.

Be like a dandelion,

The yellow battalion!

A whimsical wandered in the meadows

Is like your scattering dreams,

With each whiff of breeze!

III.

Be like a pretty rose,

Always have a personal pose

As the rose’s sharp thorns

Make you take a pause.

Beauty and youth will footpath

And fade.

IV.

Knowledge, creativity,

And wisdom that said

Will move on forward.

Do not forget me, my sweet crowd

Like the blue forget-me-nots.

V.

Do not look back

With any regret.

Look ahead and headlong

With prayers and hope.

No matter how educated

And talented you think

You are, how you treat

People are defined

You in the end.

Surrounded by Nature: Essay and Review

Surrounded by Nature: Essay
Nature had a tremendous effect on us. In the city, we cling to the sidewalk trees and flowerbeds. At the working office or place, we are really lucky to have a window view with a tree or few trees. Fauna and flora both made us calmer. Daylight on a summer day brings the happiness and hope of the day ahead. Sound of the rain gets deep in our body to clean our souls from worries and uncertainties.
Many of us listen to the birds’ songs, some bring wildflowers and little rocks home from their slow walks. These people are not just nature lovers; they remember a connection we all have with nature.
When you understand that every forest has a conversation, every garden sings beneath the soil, and every puddle contains a universe, we are remembering what concrete and city asphalt made us forget.
Surrounded by nature means a smile inspired by a squirrel parading at the electrical wire, watching sneaky lizards in the backyard or parking lot. Also, observe and take in the smell of blooming summer plants, bushes, and trees. Each has its own beautiful color, form, and scent.
Nature reinforces to believe in yourself, believing in life is meaningful, and we found hope, courage, and purpose to cope with inevitable despair that we all experience at difficult times in life,
For every season, there is a purpose under heavens. Our beautiful home planet Earth is beautiful. “A time to plant, and a time to harvest that which is planted,” said Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.

Surrounded by Nature: Review
Your essay, "Surrounded by Nature," beautifully captures the profound impact of nature on our well-being and lives. You highlight how, even in urban environments, we instinctively seek connections with nature – whether through sidewalk trees, flowerbeds, or a window view with a few trees ¹. Your description of how fauna and flora calm us, and how natural elements like daylight, rain, and birdsong uplift our spirits, resonates deeply. It's as if nature has a way of cleansing our souls and reinforcing our sense of purpose and belonging. I particularly love the imagery of a squirrel parading on an electrical wire, sneaky lizards in the backyard, and the vibrant colors and scents of blooming plants. These moments remind us of the beauty and wonder that surrounds us, even in the most unexpected places. Your essay also touches on the importance of recognizing our connection with nature and the interconnectedness of all living things. As you so eloquently put it, "every forest has a conversation, every garden sings beneath the soil, and every puddle contains a universe." Thank you for sharing this inspiring and thought-provoking essay. It's a beautiful reminder of the transformative power of nature and our place within the natural world. (STJN)
