Miami Has 10,000 Years of History

According Dr. Paul George' s overview of Florida History, Miami's history began 10,000 years ago when the first human beings for whom we have record lived along south Biscayne Bay. An archaeological excavation in 1985-1986 uncovered this information, which pushed our awareness of humans in the area back by several thousand years.
