True Story
I was incredibly lucky to attend the final game of the 2025 hockey season. My son bought tickets for us and chose me as his game’s companionship. We honored my late husband and my son’s dad. He was a great parent that took his father’s responsibilities very seriously. Also, he had the most fun with children teaching them all sports: biking, swimming, skating, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. I have a girl that is fearless, and a boy that took over dad’s love for various sports.
The Florida Panthers won the Lord Stanley Cup the second time, professionally to say, back-to-back. The celebration and excitement of Floridians are on high pick. The parade drew a crowd bigger than last year. The team deserves all praises as they dominated the game against Canadians with a confidant score 5:1.
It took me back to my own story that happened once upon a time. My late husband shared with me his personal narrative from the time when he got issued his first hockey uniform. He did not specify when exactly. As the story goes on, he got so excited to try a new hockey uniform that he did not take it off. He slept in it.
The story tells everything: pure heart and real pride. The pride to wear the uniform of the hockey team he was selected to play for. Winter season is short, and there are a lot of games to play on various skating rings by traveling by buses around the region. I can only imagine today how his pride stimulated his energy and intensity to play his best games in the tournament.
Energy always seeks expression! I believe that our body wants to be happy. It is speaking to us all the time. Listen…Looking back on these moments of happiness, I think he lost the way to nurture his body like it would be a cherished friend. He lost the will to take care of his body in the garden of his soul. He exited in a hurry, too early, too fast, without any goodbye. In the end, he gave me rain wrapped in love, and endless blessings after.
