Morning Thoughts: Essay
It
is Friday morning, almost the weekend. Do not forget to be fabulous! Let’s begin
and finish with thoughts and gratitude. As usual, the first and final moments
set up a tone for the many minutes that fall in between. The between what we
call life when we live and breathe air. We do our best. Besides, the happy soul
that is best shield that keeps us from the cruelty in the world.
It
is late September, when air smells like apples and the world looks like it has
been dipped in cinnamon. Taking in the new day’s rise, shine, and the goodness
that follows you, you feel pure joy. The joy of simple things that color the
canvas of the soul, and you smile.
According to a 19th century legend, the Truth and the Lie
meet one day. The Lie says to the Truth: “It's a marvelous day today!” The
Truth looks up to the skies and sighs, for the day was really beautiful. They
spend a lot of time together, ultimately arriving beside a well. The Lie tells
the Truth: “The water is very nice, let's take a bath together!” The Truth,
once again suspicious, tests the water and discovers that it indeed is very
nice. They undress and start bathing. Suddenly, the Lie comes out of the water,
puts on the clothes of the Truth and runs away. The furious Truth comes out of
the well and runs to find the Lie and to get her clothes back. The World,
seeing the Truth naked, turns its gaze away, with contempt and rage.
The poor Truth returns to the well and disappears forever,
hiding therein, in shame. Since then, the Lie travels around the World, dressed
as the Truth, satisfying the needs of society, because, the World, in any case,
has no wish to find, look, and meet the naked Truth.
Sun and Wind, Lie and Truth are important legends. We read,
we learn, and make out own choices what clothes we wear. I believe in a free
smile that makes the face beautiful, that highlights the best in the day, and that
may change the World for the goodness and betterment in our surroundings but do
not allow the World full of Lies to change your smile.
