Digital Exchange: Poem

 "Digital Exchange:" Poem

I listen and smile.

I do not chat with men,

Only block them

Every day and every mile.

And if you try to put up

A song with that title make up,

I love it! -

You got it!

Look, this is work in progress.

My age no longer allows any mess

To suffer for love

So, if you see me sad, my dove.

It is because of money.

Eat some chocolate, my honey!

Deception is ruing the universe

I am taking my time to finish the verse.

Who Colored the Leaves: Poem

 "Who Colored the Leaves?" Poem

The wind pushed leaves

On my hat and sleeves.

The leaves turned yellow and orange

Like corn and carrots

At my feet, very lows,

Where the wind blows

The red, brown, and yellows.

"Who colored the leaves?" -

Asked little girl playing with balls.

It happens when it's bright and cold

When autumn approaches mold,

And trees are ready for winter's fold,

With the smear of a tinter pole.

Vibrant fall foliage we always adore

And the rest is amore.

Just a Chapter

Tiny Seed: Poem

"Tiny Seed": Poem

With a tiny seed to throw

The beautiful garden soon may grow.

With the baby birds in the nest

Growing in size very fast,

They are ready to fly

Very high in the sky.

The dreams that ever dreamt

They do not die, or bend.

I promise that every wish will come true,

And I will always be with you.

Every summer the mango trees

Sends the heavenly sugar sweet treats.

On another side of the window is late August.

Woman summer is short and hot for you to trust.

Hope & Happiness: Poem

"Hope and Happiness": Poem

Hope is the key to happiness.

Joy, peace, and protections

Of great expectations

Go together with awesomeness.

I wish for and expect some fulfillments,

Without certainty and assurances

To get my desire, with respect to circumstances.

Please do not scare,

Just gently care.

Behind the window is August's mist

And it adds to the twist.

Wonderful month for star gazing

Perseids the meteor shower sky watching.

The mystery of the universe

Creates this lovely verse,

What happens when you are tune

Your pace in a good mood?

It trickles the stream into the river

And every lake looks like a mirror

Good stories

Do not create worries.

Instead, make good friends

Which are always in trends.

Not Dark Yet: Song Lyrics

Not Dark Yet

Song by

Shadows are falling, I've been here all day
It's too hot to sleep, time is running away
Feels like my soul has turned into steel
I've still got the scars that the sun didn't heal
There's not even room enough to be anywhere
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there
Well, my sense of humanity has gone down the drain
Behind every beautiful thing there's been some kind of pain
I've been down on the bottom of a world full of lies
I ain't looking for nothing in anyone's eyes
Sometimes my burden seems more than I can bear
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there
I was born here, I'll die here against my will
I know it looks like I'm moving, but I'm standing still
Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb
Can't even remember what I came here to get away from
Don't even hear a murmur of a prayer

Johan Sebastian Bach

Did you know? Johan Sebastian Bach lost his little daughter and then three sons and then his wife. Then he remarried and then he and his second wife, Anna-Magdalena, lost four more daughters and three sons. Eleven beloved children...

Many researchers have wondered: how Bach managed to handle these losses? How did he not stop breathing, how did his heart not stop? And most importantly, how could he continue to write music? Kantati, cello suites, masses, concerts... The most beautiful music the world has heard. Do you know how he did it?
At the end of his music, he always wrote "Soli Deo gloria" (Glory to God alone) and in the beginning, "Lord help.” Therefore, you can pray during Bach's music because the music itself is prayer. You could, then, consider Bach's music a conversation between man and God. How do you deal with pain? Worship is the best solace.

Cleopatra, Unique Figure in History of Humanity

Cleopatra ascended the throne at the age of 17 and died at the age of 39. She spoke 9 languages. She knew the language of Ancient Egypt and had learned to read hieroglyphics, a unique case in her dynasty. Apart from this, she knew Greek and the languages of the Parthians, Hebrews, Medes, Troglodytes, Syrians, Ethiopians, and Arabs.

With this knowledge, any book in the world was open to her. In addition to languages, she studied geography, history, astronomy, international diplomacy, mathematics, alchemy, medicine, zoology, economics, and other disciplines. She tried to access all the knowledge of her time.
Cleopatra spent a lot of time in a kind of ancient laboratory. She wrote some works related to herbs and cosmetics. Unfortunately, all her books were destroyed in the fire of the great Library of Alexandria in 391 AD. C. The famous physicist Galen studied her work and was able to transcribe some of the recipes devised by Cleopatra.
One of these remedies, which Galen also recommended to her patients, was a special cream that could help bald men regain their hair. Cleopatra's books also included beauty tips, but none of them have come down to us.
The queen of Egypt was also interested in herbal healing, and thanks to her knowledge of languages, she had access to numerous papyri that are lost today. Her influence on the sciences and medicine was well known in the early centuries of Christianity. She, without a doubt, is a unique figure in the history of humanity.

Lie and Truth

The Lie said to the Truth, "Let's take a bath together, the well water is very nice.

The Truth, still suspicious, tested the water and found out it really was nice. So they got naked and bathed.
But suddenly, the Lie leapt out of the water and fled, wearing the clothes of the Truth.
The Truth, furious, climbed out of the well to get her clothes back.
But the World, upon seeing the naked Truth, looked away, with anger and contempt.
Poor Truth returned to the well and disappeared forever, hiding her shame.
Since then, the Lie runs around the world, dressed as the Truth, and society is very happy... because the world has no desire to know the naked Truth.

Book Lovers Day

Book Lovers Day

National Book Lovers’ Day is an unofficial holiday observed to encourage bibliophiles celebrate reading and literature, reading and learning! People are advised to put away their smartphones and every possible technological distraction and pick up a book or two and read. Reading is a process, an ongoing activity. People say, there are not enough days in human life to finish the best writings that humanity presented – to read and enjoy, to read and learn.
Research studies have shown that reading can not only be entertaining but can also have many health benefits. Reading helps reduce stress, keeps the brain sharp, and can help the sleeping disorders. Scientists have also found that those who read are much more likely to be empathic and understanding of others.
There is a book for everyone’s taste - from the scent of a rare first edition book found in an antique books collection, to a crisp, fresh book at the local bookstore. The very sight of a book can bring back memories of childhood reading, to enjoy a short story or a poem. The long books novels are bringing on the magic ability to lose yourself in a story so powerful that at the end it is like missing good friends. This is for the reader in everyone, the celebration of Book Lovers Day!
Started from carving on stone tablets, the book was designed to make portable the writings and drawings of those who could not carry around stone tablets. In the more modern age, printing capabilities (Thank you, Guttenberg!) made books cheaper, and easier to obtain. The printing press, the typewriter, and the computer all had an effect on the market of books. However, the upsurge in electronic devices that can be used for reading books – computers, tablets, and most cell phones now have the ability to access any small or big book, and to enjoy reading books no matter where you are, at any geographical location.
In order to truly appreciate Book Lovers Day, one must only find a story and read it. Maybe some wish to dive into the unknown with a good mystery, or see magic in a high fantasy setting, or be enthralled in a steamy romance. The individual genre of reading is not the big part of this ‘book lovers’ celebration, just that someone practices the reading skills is important to any individual and to the society in whole. Maybe to visit our local University library is an order for this day. After all, public libraries existed even way back in the Middle Ages, but they didn’t really let many folks take books home. The librarians in those days chained books to shelves or desks in order to prevent theft of the carefully handwritten tomes. Our academic Library staff will gladly help anyone to find a title to read, giving a brief explanation on what the book is about if they have read it, or giving it a little flip and reading about it quickly in the synopsis. Come and see what is going on at the Summer Reading a Thon at the Florida National University Library! Lucky us, we can read a book at home with a cup of tea or coffee, share a book meeting with friends or go to the library and make use of the wonderful pieces on those shelves. Just enjoy the reading, discover new books, and find a way to read during Book Lovers Summer Day celebration!
“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.” (George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons) Books have stood as a testament to the spread of knowledge, the sharing of tales, and the expansion of the mind by recording and passing on these ideas down through a written medium. By writing down and replicating the thoughts, ideas, and imaginations of authors to fans, students, and philosophers - everywhere is a creative ability to share and expand personal thoughts by reading them. The first written word appeared in 3400 BC, and since these ancient times, people read.
While the first known tales were written on clay tablets, they are less than a modern book. The definition of what constitutes as a book has certainly changed over the years, covering everything from bark pages held together in a variety of styles, rolled pages of papyrus, and books more like those we are familiar with today. Today, we encourage to find time and read as many books as someone can, to live the many lives of the heroes, to learn new things, and the open the mind to new forms of knowledge. (Tomshinsky@2022)

A Caring Touch: Poem

 A Caring Touch: Poem

by Ida Tomshinsky

Every person
Has a favorite
Time of year,
But nursing
Is always in season,
Because caring
Is a specialty
Of veracity and integrity.
Teaching and educating,
Advising and mentoring,
And more than that, caring
A job with a heart
Should not be hard,
24/7 all-year around.
But it is more –
Commitment and compassion,
Helping those you adore,
With passion and dedication!
Caring and sharing,
Answering needs, and
Brightening patients’ lives;
Each and every day
In every way,
With a warm heart,
It should not be too hard
By using just, a tender touch
That will mean so much!

Reflection: Poem

Reflection: Poem

Our mind is a garden,

Our thoughts are the seeds.

You can grow flowers

Or you can grow weeds.

Happy moments

Create memories.

Great melodies

Make life fundamentals

Sound instrumental.

Time rhythmic,

Food picknick

Both are music for heart

Like a romantic ballad.

Memory: Poem

 ~ Memory ~

Eventually your memory will become a memory,
years lived will be remembered by someone you love,
you will embrace your ultimate reward,
and observe from heaven above.
Your story will become family lore,
perhaps unwritten but it will be told,
they will speak about your years on earth,
from your youth until you grew very old.
Perhaps your story will be engaging,
humorous, heartfelt and content,
but it will always be remembered,
a message you have eternally sent.
Ensure that your memory is fulfilling,
for this will be your final word,
though your voice will be silenced,
you will still be heard.
Your epitaph your legacy, letters etched in stone,
it is simply you they will think of,
eventually your memory will become a memory,
years lived will be remembered by someone you love.

Funny Grandmother: Story

A married couple in their early 60s was out celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table and said, “For being such an exemplary married couple and for being faithful to each other all this time, I will grant you each a wish.”
“Ooh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband,” said the wife. The fairy moved her magic wand and – abracadabra! – two tickets for the new QM2 luxury liner appeared in her hands.
Now it was the husband’s turn. He thought for a moment and said, “Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this only occurs once in a lifetime, so, I’m sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.”
The wife and the fairy were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish...
So the fairy made a circle with her magic wand and – abracadabra! – the husband was 92 years old.
