Remember

Remember by Joy Harjo

Remember the sky that you were born under,
know each of the star's stories.
Remember the moon, know who she is.
Remember the sun's birth at dawn, that is the
strongest point of time. Remember sundown
and the giving away to night.
Remember your birth, how your mother struggled
to give you form and breath. You are evidence of
her life, and her mother's, and hers.
Remember your father. He is your life, also.
Remember the earth whose skin you are:
red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth
brown earth, we are earth.
Remember the plants, trees, animal life who all have their
tribes, their families, their histories, too. Talk to them,
listen to them. They are alive poems.
Remember the wind. Remember her voice. She knows the
origin of this universe.
Remember you are people and all people
are you.
Remember you are this universe and this
universe is you.
Remember all is in motion, is growing, is you.
Remember language comes from this.
Remember the dance language is, that life is.
Remember.

April's Showers...

Earth Day Celebration:
"Let's take care of Nature,
or the Nature will take care of us."

Celebrating National Library Week
 and Library Workers dedication
 to the 5-star Customer Services
of showcasing their talents and skills

One of the offerings
of the poetry is a reflection of current events.
Poetry is helping us to portray us
 as we are, our times,
our ways of life,
and to ensure that each generation benefits
from all that American poetry offers
to our culture and nation.

One Little Owl

One little owl,
winked at the setting sun,
flew into my backyard,
and then there were none.

Five Little Owls: Short Story

Five little owls
learning to say, "who."
They flapped their wings
and then said, "shoe!"
Momma owl cried,
"no, no, not shoe!"
Please oh please say,

Little Free Library

"Take It or Leave It" is
a book exchange
in the most unusual place.

It does not matter
how small is the act of kindness!

As per Florida Library Association,
there are about 16,000 Little Free Libraries
around the State of Florida -
in old phone boots, bus stations,
bird-house small wood creations,
old mail-boxes, etc.
Let's celebrate the National Library Week
with books and reading!
