Florida Crane: Poem

 Florida Crane

Florida Crane is stretched out tall,

Long-legged beautiful bird.

It lives in Florida’s wetlands

Where is abundance of seafoods.

Gray feathers and reddish patch

On its head

Stands out at open grassland.

Granes are known for graceful necks

Their loud calls,

And strong family bonds.

On the menu are seeds and plants,

Insects and small animals’ meats.

I heard the whispered cultural myth

For storks and cranes.

They deliver babies too.

Not fumble but humble

Like ample sweet pie.

Never say bye

To storks and cranes. – They will be back

To announce arrival

Of new revival.
