Driving throughout the suburbs, sometimes you can see boxes
of discarded books and magazines, ate by mold, cockroaches,
and other unfriendly elements.
People are too lazy to donate their books to a local library.
Probably many people switched to a different media
of reading on iPad, on Kindle, and Internet. Many people cheat by
watching the classic literature in movies.
So, when books became the textual trash?
What it tells about our society?
Is culture of reading in decline?
It is not unusual to use the vulnerability of printed media
as a written image.
Books are manipulated by contemporary artists conceptually into
soft sculptures, into wearable art, into a tool to dry plants -
repurposing the book, now sadly unreadable, into something else,
called 'written image.'
