"In a Cage": Poem
Today I woke up in the cage
I 'd never was before.
Yet inside it,
I aged at least five years
And more.
I lived inside contingency
Never daring to get out,
Happy with a small, safe world,
No windows looking out.
Then you came,
And made a hole.
So, I could see beyond
A miraculous new world
That I missed because of fears
To holding on.
I used to my caged home
Because it is my dome.
It will take time
To get out of the cage,
But I am ready for change.
