You, Me, and the Tree: Poem

You, Me and the Tree

I.

I think about Adam a lot.

Adam was caught

When bit the apple

And blamed and shamed Eve...

This is why the apple

Stuck in men’s throats.

II.

Slightly feral,

I got a referral –

Surrounded by thirsty birds

Arguing with hungry squirrel

Over whom owns

The bird’s feeder.

I blame and shame the Eve,

Not Adam bit the apple.

There is an effect of ripples

When fruit stuck in men’s throats.

III.

It was an opportunity

Acquiring a robust vocabulary

When you have paper, pen, and the key

Unlock the door to history

And turn it into a story

For you, me, and the apple tree.
